Odd combination. With a Sturmey 3-speed, mudguards and a wicker basket it would be fine.

My aunt's got one with a 531 frame. It's quite nicely put together - for a Falcon.

I must say, I can see the point. I've considered making one for my dad; thanks to athritis, he has trouble getting onto his MTB.

I like but i'd build one from scrap.
Always been a fan of step thru's and as i get older especially if riding a bike loaded with touring gear theyre great.
I'd go for a proper mixte frame though for strength. The french developed them as a strong unisex tourer but due to step through they became associated with womens bikes which is a shame. :roll:
