1.5/1.57 tyres

Conti 1.50 cross country. I always ride them. Never had a problem. Good for mud :D
 
Tioga factory muds on STW 1.5 , £30 for the pair pretty much brand new.

Tioga's idea of 1.8 is about 2.3 in everyone elses language so might be worth looking at them first...as they may end up looking bigger than 1.5...?

Panaracer Fire XC Pro 1.8's are nice and slim and grippy to boot. But not technically 1.5's. Fast though.
 
someone had a set of specialized hardpack 1.5s a couple of months back. I think it was Scant. he might still have them.

slim had them off me saturday :)
specialized did some "extreme" tyres in 1.7, that was more like 1.5in a while back. 99 kinda era. I think you could get the panaracer "Mach" semi slick tyre in 1.5in as well.
some of the superlite maxxis tyres measure up to around 1.5in.
