Earliest V-brakes/'best' cantis?

To answer the best canti. question it's gotta be Machine Tech every time...

v-brakes

My favorite v-brakes were Precision Billet. Flawless! Unfortunately, they were always hard to find and only rarely show up on ebay.

Apparently Mrazek took the design on, and they might be easier to find as they still make bikes

I've got both Mrazek and Marinovative, and I can say they're way better than xtr's as far as stopping power is concerned. A bit brisk, if you are not used to them, tho.
Here they are, mounted on my hardtail http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewto ... c&start=30

this also is an early example of v-brakes.
they work and look like v-brakes but the
term was not invented yet...
so controltech just called them:

Another vote for the Pauls here, easy to set up (even for me!) and pretty well made, I tend to prefer the MC verson without the drilling and once the Dia-Compe pads are swapped for Kool Stops or Aztecs they stop well too :D

Not quite canti but they are top notch rim brake - Maguras plus don't have the problems of cables/spring setting up :)
