East Midlands Area chat and rides thread

excellent :D

sorry you guys couldn't be at the pub yesterday - get Mat to tell you about camping some time (and jets)... :shock: :LOL:

Grrr! Camping :evil:

On another note, what is the default spindle length for 1990's MTB's with 73mm bb thingies.

I need a BB for the Saracen Hardtrax I'm buiding up for a friend and I'm fitting a Specialised crank from around that time I bought off Lewis1641.

Any words of wisdom?

Strangely Rob was asking a similar question - what I do (and you are welcome to borrow) is have a selection of old BBs of varying spindle lengths. I try each in turn until I find the one that fits then buy the new equivalent :D

when the crankset is put on and the chainline is right. Yes it does matter slightly more for singlespeed.

I enquired on the Dyna Tech string and Old Ned suggested 122.5, so being impatient I bought one from Evans. Don't have a chainring yet so don't know if it was a sensible purchase.

Pines looking a good collection of folks.

Hmmm, I'll go to the scarcen boys for info.

The Pines are looking good...you were missed last night. Great route though, John did a good job. Lots of hills though!

Next week, Ticknall 7pm in the car park, every one welcome. Ed is away, Rob's in Italy, and Mat is Er looking after a badger.

on the yes list;
John
Phil

i'll stick my name down but can't promise anything as i'm waiting on a new bottom bracket for the FSR still, and waiting to hear how much the postage for the clockwork is gonna be, so curently i have nothing to ride lol.
