Have you tried soaking the lever in WD-40 and leaving it overnight? sometimes it helps!

I've got an NOS L/H RSX STI somewhere. Might be RX100, but I'm pretty sure it's RSX. I'm in the middle of a house move, and it's packed in a box, but drop me a PM if that's of interest and I'll get back to you when I've unpacked.
