LTS Biker Senior Retro Guru Feedback View May 7, 2007 #1 I need some brake studs for a frame, but all the recent brakestuds don't fit. The size is M8, but the tread is wider than the modern ones. It's for a Cannondale P-bone fork and a 1996 Trek 8000 frame. Which studs do I need?

B3 Senior Retro Guru May 8, 2007 #2 Simod had the same problem, he bought some pepperonni's, the thread in these were 3/8 unc. A lot of US stuff is imperial, IIRC they're the same as the ones on the back of FATs. HTH John

LTS Biker Senior Retro Guru Feedback View May 9, 2007 #3 Is it on all bikes that the thread is different on newer bikes?
B3 Senior Retro Guru May 9, 2007 #4 I think a lot depneds on where the frame builder is buying supplies. There is no swap over date as stuff is still produced today with imperial threads.
