A good project, it looks like a smaller frame.

Thanks for the article, FemtoMetre. It's always an adventure! I'm not going to repaint this Mercian, as I like its antique appearance too much. It is a 55cm, which is 2-3cm too large for me, so I am building it as an upright bike.
chris667, it rides beautifully... like nothing else I've ever tried. (I had the chance to use it quite a bit when it still belonged to the previous owner. He had it set up as a single-speed beater/utility bike.)

but a steel Nuovo Record would look the part if you can find one, and there's nothing wrong with a Tange Levin at an eighth of the price. A blue King would be a crime against taste in my view ... but it's your bike.
some parts. NIB 2002-2006, when Campy still made Record triple and Record was available polished rather than black/carbon. (I may choose a different front derailleur without the black knuckle.) The QRs are not included in the photo... as they will not be used.
