Alpinestars Al mega or cro mega build

I have just come into two alpinestars framesets - one 1991 Almega dx - (the yellow and white one) and a 1992 Cromega dx (red one) I only have the bits to build one of them - which should it be? I hear the Al mega is rarer, but the cro mega is more likley to be useable when finished.

Got to be the Al-Mega !!! Owned both in the past, in fact all four at one point and loved the Al the best !! Even over the Al-mega XT, probably because of colour though !!

I found that my two steel frames used to flex too much at the bottom bracket and most annoyingly it used to make a cracking noise on very cold mornings when you pedal too hard !!! (Is this common Retro Guru's ??)

Also, what steel frame is it you say you have ? Only my cro-mega DX was white and grey with a red strip and my LX was white and bright pink !!

Fun Retro builds tho !!

for riding, defo the cro mega - ive always loved all the models to be honest!

General concensus is steer clear of the 1991 and earlier al-mega's.

All the best with your project whichever way you choose, but cro-mega in for me in this case.

Just a bit OT but I was wondering if anyone had pics of the non-e-stay cro-mega dx (yellow front)? I used to have one and can only find pics of the elevated version.
