What motivates me to buy a car? The fact that I don't already have it usually. I see a nice car and think "hmm, not got one of those, and therefore I want one". It's rarely a rational decision. Like the time I bought an Audi S2. 265bhp, 4wd, big and powerful enough to carry a fully built wardrobe at over 150mph. Nearly bankrupted me though. Once got 3 mpg from it.
I'm driving a slightly tweaked fwd diesel these days. Big up the torque steer...

Two weeks ago i had to choose between my Lancia Delta and my Legacy Outback. Legacy won but only because there's an Escort cossie in the pipeline. only wanted one for 12 years!
