Dirt Disciple
Acquired an old frame with rough, all-over paint job. Photos of serial number on headtube lug, rear dropout, and seatstay uploaded: any ideas? Also, does "MW" (on rims and hubs) ring any bells?

Could do with some more detail pics.
Looks like a cast seat lug, and rear ends of quality similar to Chater Lea design late 30s.

MW could be Midland Wheel, suppliers of guess what to many cycle makers, wholesalers and assemblers.

Here's a photo of the cycle. The rims are marked 'MW made in Italy, with that MW inside an oval shape; the hubs are marked 'MW France E70' and 'E3' respectively.

Re:

Hi, not many clues, early to mid thirties I suspect, the long serial number points to a mass producer but who ? The dropouts are Brampton and that's about it, there was not a lot of customising of frames with only limited lug 'designs' at this time, all of which could be bought by mail order. Sorry I can't add much. Thanks Terry
