Replacement Rear Shock for my Mantra

I finally got to rebuilding my 1997 Klein Mantra viewtopic.php?f=1&t=385682 and I'm starting with the rear shock. So far, I have only Fox Float RP23 on my list (credit to Thias)

Currently I've got Fox Vanilla Coil 500 x 2.0. Eyelet to eyelet measures approximately 17cm or 6 3/4"

What does it mean 500 x 2.0?

pretty confident that it needs 500 pounds <american > to compress 2 inches.... basically the spring rate.

Any pointers for finding any more rear shocks for a Mantra? Seem to be rarer than hen's teeth?

Sadly, I abandoned the project but I'd be curious to see what others say. My guess is ebay is our best bet
