Print off the email and frame it! Top bloke

Better than that Pickle, he's invited me to show him the bike and get his thoughts. He's going to sort me out some parts he's got lying around too (in return i'll pay his MM entry). Seems a real top chap, as far as i'm concerned he can have free access to this bike, whenever he wants to use it, it's his for the taking. Like people have previously said i'm the custodian and in my eyes it will always be his bike. Might try and tempt him into the Cannock ride as it's pretty local to him.

I'm really pleased for you mate (and a little jealous ;) )

Think you're going to bw sorted then :)

Now anyone know who rode for the '91 Rocky Mountain team in the UK and preferably anyone famous ;) (I assume '91 team) as that is where my frame originally came from (says the person iirc, who ran EuroCycles near Snaith/Google who I got it from bitd. Nice chap he was).
lol.

I think the tyres Baker was using back in the day were Specialised hardpacks 1.5.It also looks like he's using Campag rims in the photo too, maybe Stheno's? or something like that.I do remember seeing his bike in cyling weekly. It had bar tape instead of grips for light weight!
Thanx Max

Will Longden was on RM BITD if I remember correctly - may have been a few years later though........

May be worth an ask Via MBUK

By the way - the X-lite forks in 1996 were P.O.A, product code was 075 - description
"Titanium Pro Rigid Fork" 880grams
Titanium Pro Twin crown rigid fork, Titanium stanchions, steerer tune and brake pivots, CNC Machined crowns and dropouts

Found my 96 X-lite product sheet!!

Just a quick one, the Raleigh DynaTech team with Timmis in was 1993. No other year.

'92 it would have been Raleigh Saab and in '94 it would be just Raleigh.

Now that is useful info. From what i've been led to believe it was a 1991 or 92 bike. That date fits better with me I though it was more 92/93. Thanks very much FluffyChicken a true scholar.

I have found a sept 1992 MBUK with The Raleigh Dynatech Team for that year in. No mention of SAAB although there is a page missing.

Stem was black Syncros, 3 bikes have Rock shox fitted, Caroline Alexander has black Cooks cranks, 4 bikes have blue front hubs. 3 bikes have black seatposts and one has what looks to be Campag crankset. Baker, Clarke and Alexander have bar tape fitted to bars and bar ends (no bar ends on Alexanders bike)
Team was ..
Caroline Alexander
David Baker
Adrian Timmis
Barrie Clarke
Gary Coltman
Paul Hinton

Timmis results for 92 (up to september)...
National series round 1- 9th
Round 2 - 3rd
Grundig world cup Round 3- 13th

Hope this helps
Si

Print always beats what what you remember and what you find on the web.

September would be picture from July-ish then. ... As Septembers magazine would be the August one, (sometime for some mags July  ) so picture would have to have been taken a month before that to get it in print I'm guessing).
