stumpjumper... what year is this bike?

oh yeah, 7speed, with 4 finger brake levers (specialzed didnt think two fingers were powerfull enough)

i would love to buy that off you, if you want to sell it, that is!

Very nice, I may be wrong but is this the era Specialized went in the following order

Rockhoppers were the top of the range
Stumpjumpers
Hard Rocks entry level

I'm sure they switch the models round about 89/90.

I didn't think they did that sticker over the paint blend in 89 as well as '88 but the 88 Stumpy was the perrrrfect Dinuci (spelled wrong?) green and Magenta Pink two tone and I would have sold a kidney for that frame. There's one on First Flight's website actually if you fancy a look.

a clue is the hyperglide sticker on the cassette, 89' was the year they released "slick shifting"..

hey nice bike i got one off ebay before christmas for Â£46 not as nice quality as yours though, as the other guys say it is definitely 1989. I need an original specialized rear wheel for this bike if anyone happens to have one about....
