Hi Guys I hope you like the log in name :)

I have been tasked with guiding you guys round the FOD for the day, don't worry I've enough knowledge to get you round and back safely and can organise a short cut back just after lunch if needed. The pub has a big outdoor eating area undercover so we'll be fine covered in dust :) Reading through the thread there seems to be a few people that have been down before. I will take you on a route which has ups, downs, flats and some of the best natural singletrack I've ridden in the UK. No climbs will be unclimbable and no downs will be unrideable and its all walkable :) I've done everything in the FOD on a SS so if you've gears then you'll be OK. I plan on getting you guys to enjoy the ride and have a good day out so you can set the pace I'll just give instructions on where to turn and inform you of any possible dangers/obsticals in the way. I'm also a photographer so can also help you out with shots and the best place to get the shots.

One last thing there is a bunk house at the Fountain Inn @ Parkend if a few of you wanted to stay over or there's a good campsite call Bracelands in Christchurch.

That route sounds perfect, i'm sure were in for a top days riding.

I'd be interested in booking some accommadation as i'm travelling from Lancashire, so is there safe storage for bikes at the Fountain Inn. Would also pend on what the others are doing?

I was just looking at that too, Im only 40 miles down the road but I would be up for a few beers too, £10 a night you cant complain hey? :D

Went riding with The Guide today in the Forest of Dean and although not on the planned route I'd say that we are on for a really cracking day's riding in excellent company.

Oh, and if it's a choice between the FoD ride and the Wobble then it's hard to make comparisons as one will be an 'intimate' ride when we'll see few riders not in our group and the other will be a much larger scale event with a load of other riders. One is not better than the other, just different, and if you can only make one I'd suggest choosing which of the above descriptions you fancy more (although really I'd recommend doing both!).

Keen

Any idea how closethe campsite is to the Fountain inn. I'll bring my tent as a first choice, but the bunk house will be plan A if the site is a long way from the pub.

ha! Its Sheldon the guide! No worries.
Thought so when you said photographer.

You came with your mate and bought a lovely blue PA from me a couple of years ago. Does he want to sell the frame back?? :)

I should be up for this too, father in law just moved near Ross too which sorts the family out for the day.
Sounds good.
