I moved to reading a year ago and love it. 35mins on the train to paddington if you need to get into the city and lots of good road and MTB riding around the area. The Lookout at bracknell for MTB and the area north of caversham is great to road ride on.
typical rent 3 bed terrace is around £875 in the centre of town. one beds can go for around £650 - £700.
Town centre is good for shopping and lots of great restaurants.
