Haven't a clue, and I do it all.

It comes to some amount and I pay it. I know Lidl is cheaper than Sainsbury's though. I don't eat much meat but when I do it's from a butcher. The chicken is about a third of the price of the supermarkets. God only knows where it comes from, but it tastes fine to me.

**** growing your own. That's what farmers are for. Plus you can't grow chocolate digestives.

LIDL's Stollen is worth the trip alone! While I'm there, I pick up a trolley load of tins- tomates, frijoles y garbanzos, proper ripe fruit and veg, and choccy Santas if the fatties haven't cleared them out. Meat from the local butchers, all born, reared, fattened and slaughtered within 5 miles, and eggs from our sole surviving chook, Cilla, or other local free range pampered pets.
I'm getting a bit porky...
