The odd very thin sliver of material that it sheared off when it went on - just the thin foil like lumps that were the reason for asking in the first place 
Pretty sure that the therory of it bring fitted to a V2 spline were correct - luckily it hadn't been tightened properly / fully, only engaging the splines about 2mm or so leaving the rest of the spline untouched / as it should be
