I just bought a 92 GT timberline and the canti brakes arent very good. Do I a) replace cables and set them up, but still be sort of adequate. Or b) replace them with something like magura hs33

Magura's are always worth while.

pads, cables and a few moments to set them up works wonders. clean your rims too.

Had maguras before which were good and going from disc brakes back to a bike with cantis is a world of difference. I know you can't compare them. Might try to give a little tweak and see if any better
