Campy Rear Der - help identify

A friend gave me this campy rear derailleur says he has no use for it. I think it's an 8s Chorus but he says its a Record 1st gen 8s although he isn't quite sure. Appreciate your expert opinions please. Thanks

Looks like a Record derailleur circa 1993, but what happened to that poor thing, every surface is scratched.
 
Yeah, this is actually the first Campagnolo 8-speed rear, designed to work with the 91 launch of Record Ergo Levers. This is Record, similar to Chorus unit but with the adition of the spring rate adjustment screw. Quite rare as it only had a tight production run but sadly yours is in a very sad state.
 
Thank you for the clarification. Yes it's full of scratches probably due to the fact that it was stashed in a bin full of nuts, bolts and what have you when I saw it. The jockey wheels are trashed so got rid of those. I'll try to get this polished and see if I could get rid of some of the scratches.
