UK vs US brake differences.

I think here in OZ it is actually in the design rules (correct name escapes me) that the rear be on the left... but not on any of my bikes thanks.
 
It's so that English cyclists can still have their sword arm free to attack an oncoming Yankee while utilising the left hand to feather the rear brake.
 
I believe that, Chopper, is why we drive on the left. The Europeans drive on the right due to Napoleon being left handed, and forcing his troops to march on the right instead. The Yanks just copied the Europeans out of spite
