So you're saying that the rim tape, whatever, doesn't have to be that substantial due to the low pressure in tube? Got ye now.

Holes were cut with a 44mm or 1 1/2" holesaw, awfy laborious, I had a pillar drill which helped, I've seen people doing it with a hand drill but I reckon that would be a bit of a mare.
The pair cost me 80 euro, Surly's equivalent rim costs £149 a piece. Sure the finish isn't as good nor the quality and it was a fair bit of work but I had the time and inclination, I can see how some just plump for the factory drilled option.
