The bar tape is the only thing I don't like about this otherwise spectacular bike.
If you are going to take it off anyway, I would suggest replacing the Brooks
with some dark green tape to match some of the other details on the bike.
Cotton tape would probably be period correct for this, but maybe you could
get away with something like Fizik tape which might be more practical.
Never been a fan of the Brooks leather tape - did people ever use leather bar tape back in the day, or is it just an anachronism Brooks have introduced themselves?
Anyway, the rest of the bike seems perfect to me, congratulations on the restoration.
