buy a matching rear - it will roll far better than an XT - if you sell you are looking at 20 - 45 depending on the condition and whether it has faded at all - check for cracks around the spoke holes though earlier ones were a bit prone to it.

Youll pic up a matching rear for around £45 - £75 although finding one with a matching rim might not be easy.

Cheers, I thought not :(

I'd rather not offload it, but thought I'd get dibs up.

I wish I'd not thrown my broken rear away now.

Hey everyone!

I just found a sweet 1993 Marin Team Issue from the local thrift store here in the States. I would keep it but it's a bit too large for my size, so here I am turning to this wonderful community for some value advice.

Everything seems to be original except the seat post, pedals, cable casings, a few of the spoke nipples, and tires. I've gone in and replaced the Manitou's elastomers and have taken the bike in for a tune up, the mechanical's are smooth and the ride is awesome! It has some light surface rust in various places, but I am sure would clean off easily. All the components appear to be XTR, man I wish this bike was the right size for me!

Thanks in advance guys and gals, any advice is much appreciated :D

-Brad

Nice find! I've seen a 93 Team Marin go for ~$400 in the UK so this could make ~$500. Very large size might put buyers off though. Worth more if you split it and sold frame, forks, XTR bits seperately.

Maybe you can find a smaller worn-out Team and transfer the parts across? ;)

Thanks for the insight Irh!

A frame swap wouldn't be a bad idea at all. This bike is my first experience with good solid components, what a difference it makes!

Hoping for help with the identity and value of these hubs:

Thanks.

Hi chaps, I was wondering if you could give a little advice on my Rockhopper and let me know if it is worth selling or is it scrap? Hopefully it's the former as I've been using for the last 20 years and we've had some good times together.

It's an early '90's ('92?) model with obviously a modified front end (I may still have the OEM forks lying around somewhere). Everything from the stem back is original except the rear cassette. There are loads of scratches and scrapes but no major dings.

Cheers for any advice.

Specialized Air Force II helmets

Digging around in my parents loft I found my old Specialized Air Force II helmets boxed up from around 1990. These were my first ever helmets in size large. Are these worth anything?
Cheers
