never noticed before, but i've got a few pm's sitting in the outbox rather than showing as sent - is this usual?

Yep, its because the person you have sent them to hasn't opened them yet.

They only show as sent once they have been opened by the recipient.

What if the recipients inbox is full, does the message sit in your outbox until they have made room for it? I've had a couple of pm's take ages to be read but I know the member is online and sending out pm's
