Just another thought, Im not that keen on your spokes their not stainless are they? I bet that might have something to do with the accelerated reaction of your rims. Ive got some wheels with X517 rims citron finished like your and their fine 'but' fitted with S/S spokes.

Theyre painted black (unless theyre not haha!), wouldnt that be a barrier?

Wouldnt it be to do with the nipples?
 
Mixing metals, alloy rim, alloy nipples, mild steel spokes just add water/road salt and off you go. There's a name for it electrol......or summit like that. Same problem on old Land Rovers metal chassis
alloy body, ships as well etc. I wouldn't think its a danger more cosmetic
I think the braking surface will wear out before the spoke rim combo
becomes a problem. But Im not a metallurgist/chemist :roll:

Yeah i see what you mean. They are disc rims. Not ridden it since i discovered this but its around every spoke hole.

I suspected it was stress marks but really hope it isnt. Some great advice.

Remember the threaded bit that goes into the nipple wont have paint on it just think of all the water running down the spoke right into that area.

If it wasnt there before, these marks appeared after a very wet ride around the moors including a quarry (possible salt quarry).
