I have some silver Mavic EX721s that have what look like stress marks around each eyelet. They have been there from new. I think, as implied by the post above, that it's a common thing on some silver Mavics.
It looks like the anodising is breaking up if only the manufactures had drilled the holes first 'then' did the anodising I expect it wouldn't be such a problem :?
