My carbon forks have carbon disc brake tabs :x Is it OK to cut them off?

I'd be a bit weary of doing it to be honest. The weave may not start/finish on the tab alone, it might link in with the rest of the fork so when you cut it it'll leave an open weave. You might be able to use a carbon patch kit to smooth over it afterwards, but I'd be weary that you'd have created a weak spot. I'd leave it.

:( Thanks. Confirmed what i was thinking but hoping i could cut them off. Bloody tabs :x

Why cut them off, they will destroy the forks value and possibly compromise the strength of the fork. I would really advise against it.

.

If you do decide to and use a tool that will result in airborn particles of carbon be sure to wear some sort of mask as carbon fibre dust is really nasty stuff :? .
It gets stuck in your lungs in a similar way to aspestos

What type of tool would that be?

Safest option would be a handsaw.
Anything like a grinder or a jigsaw will result in quite a bit of dust and you don't want that stuff getting inside you ;)
