They are mountainbikesize and suitable with skewers.

DIAMONDBACK AXIS 1992

Hi

I would like your thoughts on my 1992 Diamondback Axis. The frame has spots of surface rust, its Truetemper OX double butted.
Full XT groupset.

Pretty much all original parts except:

Flite Ti saddle with ripped cover.
Front and rear tyres.
Middleburn middle ring.
XT front mech thumb shifter.

Pretty sure everything (except tyres, tubes, brake pads) is pre 1994.
Definately needs some tlc, but I think it would make a great restoration. Unfortunately I don't have the time or money to do it.
Rode it today though, for the first time in ages, still good!

Any help much appreciated. Can give full spec if required. Thanks!

hi martin....do you own the 8900 in the pic?......

Raleigh 1987 Ozark

I have a Raleigh Ozark (1987 I believe) owned by me from new and ridden lots.

I guess I would describe as ok condition for the age but please let me know otherwise.

I think all the components apart from the tyres, the derailleurs, shifters, chain, hand grips, and pedals are original. (24 years has taken its toll on my memory)

The fork I decided to respray with a slightly different red (not sure what I was thinking at the time).

There is some rust to the handlebar and rear wheel spokes (reacted with something in the garage). The frame itself has odd bits of rust but nothing too serious.

What do people think?

Not so much then? Not really worth selling to be honest. I think I'll keep it and do the restoration very very slowly!

Just need some advice about surface rust now.....

Thanks for the help.

Hi Martin,

Wheels are strange; you can many times get just as much or more for the hubs alone, since people don't want to pay for shipping whole wheels or have their own build in mind. While if you keep them whole, you might actually get less, if they sell at all.
Them being 8spd works against their value as it's not an older version; it is probably an early to mid 90's hubset.
$150.00 USD for the wheelset sounds about right. More if you part it out, and advertise it well. margin of error +/- $50.00 ;)

Yeah depends on condition but £150-200 I would say. I know there were a few wanted ads for these so if you decide to sell search there first maybe (search button is at the top).
