Nice bike, I'd post it up in the post '98 section though, you may get a better response to your question & maybe an answer to what year it is (I have no idea)

What point are you making? John owns a car, does that mean retrobike now caters to cars? Surely if you have a modern bike and want to get someone to identify that modern bike why not go to a site that specialises in modern bikes rather than one that specialises in old bikes.
I am trying to help the OP as it is unlikely that they are going to get much interest here. Even if it's posted in the post 98 section are there honestly people who only ever visit that section and won't have seen it here. It's been up for a week with no interest so let's be honest with the OP -retrobike is not the best place to ID your modern bike.
Best bet is to try STW, Bikemagic or some other modern bike site. Likewise if you want to sell it, you will get a greater response from sites dedicated to modern bikes like this.
But if the parts are anything to go by it'll be from mid to late noughties

Maybe the OP doesn't know that other forums exist, maybe due to the way of some of the posters come across he doesn't like those forums, maybe he has posted on other forums and they didn't know what year it was either & they said, "hey those guys over on Retrobike know a lot about interesting bikes, maybe they might know what year it is". I'm not telepathic so I don't know which of the above is the case.
You may be right, a more modern biased forum may know the answer, they may not. What's the harm in asking a question on any forum?
If you only want to look at/talk about/discuss retrobikes then I'd ignore the rest of the forum as it seems to get you a little wound up, as your 'location' says, I'd not be so melodramatic, it's only a funking bike.

No one on here knows anything about this bike otherwise someone would have answered, even if it had been posted in the right section of this site.
As far as discussing retro bikes, I thought that was the point of retrobike.co.uk, that is why it existed in the first place. If i wanted to talk about cars, modern bikes or other stuff i would go to other sites where people know something about them.
And I think that should answer your final self-satisfied and smug point; I do avoid the other sections of the forum as they have nothing to do with retrobikes.
