Chainsets... 8sp or 9sp

I'm looking at getting a new square taper chainset - only a temp measure, but seen the Alivio chainset on CRC for £27... Only it says its for 8sp setups - does that mean it defo won't work on a 9sp?

it will work fine with 9spd

front mech shifting may give you trouble so a cup of tea and some spanner time is recommended

Got an M563 chainset at the moment with red anodised Talon chainrings but don't think they really suit the bike... Think I'm going to replace them with this for the time being...

Has anyone heard of Talon chainrings - are they sought after/ any good?

I think they were American, and I have some and they seem pretty good to me ( But would like some nice red ones as mine are silver ;) ) :D
