Dura Ace Di2 shifters with BL-7402 brake levers possible ?

I really dislike the new-shape combined shifters/brake levers and my new frame doesn't have down tube shifter bosses.

So I am wondering if I can use the satelite shifter buttons without the brake/shift levers ? That way I would have nicely shaped brake levers and 10-speed shifting.

I don't care about 10 speeds really but the support vehicles at races doesn't carry 8-speed spare wheels..

No you can't.

Satellite shifters plug into the main units.

There is however an alternate Tri/time trial brake lever/shift unit which probably won't look right either, but if you're desperate.

No, that won't look right..

I assume from your answer that the shifting electronics is in the brake/shift levers and not in the deraileurs themselves ?

If you mean the computery stuff, yes.

There are of course electrical parts in the derailleurs too.

Exactly what I meant.
That makes it expensive.. If I can't find a pair of crashes shifters/brake levers.
Thanks for the help!
