Newcastleton-Kielder?

I know that a new route, called the 'Cross Border Trail', which includes some purpose built singletrack link route has been proposed, and partially built, but I'm not sure if it's open yet.
But there has been an offroad route linking Kielder to Newcastleton for several years, which uses mainly well surfaced forest roads. It's part of the Reivers route.
Maps for this are available here.
As for the new route; these guys are involved in developing and building:

and there's some more discussion and links here. But sadly no maps yet as far as I know.
