Free anti virus - PC compatible

Hi Folks,

After some advice on free anti virus software for a PC. Dont want to spend anything as I mainly use my iMac but would be nice to know its protected.....

Vista (eugh!) compatible.

Any suggestions?

AVG free etc

Avira is the best of the free antivirus products. You get an advert when you update the database, though.

Whatever you do, DON'T get Comodo. It buried itself very deep into one of my PC's, changing all sorts of settings, so much so that I couldn't get back on the internet or install anything off the CD drive. A complete nightmare.

AVG Free. Not as light as it first was, but still OK

AVAST recomended to me by an it specialist, using it now on every pc and laptop we have and have no trouble with it
