good topicmaybe its me, but none of the modern ones are really that good - things just arent as good as they uised to be :roll:

Own brands seem to be more figgy and less sweet than the 'proper' ones

I personally like aldi and lidl ones myself. Although i might have to go to tesco on the way to work tonight and sample some from there

most own brands are from the one supplier, re-labeled for each supermarket

The cheaper the better for me, supermarket own brands all the way, the Tesco Fig Rolls at around 50p a pack are a bargaintastic taste sensation
Jacobs just don't cut it I'm afraid.
Does anyone actually make an "upmarket" or "luxury" fig roll? :?
Oh, and I find they're much better if I leave them in the open for a day or two, until the biscuit outer goes quite hard and can easily be romeved in large sections without breaking up.... yep...I'm weird.... :mrgreen:

How bizarre. Bought my first fig rolls in years this week. Co OP own brand. Not opened them yet. What should I expect?

actually Co-op are pretty good - and definitely leave them out for a day or two to mature
