Tips to get cycling again

Last proper ride was November, work was busy right up until Christmas eve so have not been out since.

Plans to go out Saturday still look good.

Scales say I've put on 7lb over the festive period.

Any general tips for us fatties?

*edit: have managed to polish off all the choccies and cake left over so none left to tempt me. Have not had a beer since New Years eve either.
 
7 pounds? Pah!

The doctor shoved me on the scales and I told him I was around 220, to be corrected that I was 240 in my gear!

Oops!

Almost tempts me to forgo my salami in a sock, regardless of how good it looks in my Levi's.
 
I got some string and measured it around my middle. The string was then cut and labeled with the date.

I repeated the exercise after 6 weeks of riding and even I was impressed at the difference in string length.

I think it was a better incentive than merely weighing myself. Put it all on again now though thanks to health woes.
 
tip is to get dressed, get bike and go outside to ride it. saturday eather is sunny and dry, albeit cold so no excuse not to getting out.
