#1 (& only) son left home and left me with his aged Kona Stinky Dee-Luxe, serial # H8N04792. The question is, how aged is it and is it any good? Worth my restoring? He's hopeless at looking after things (I blame his parents), but he did love it and loved riding it. I'm a confirmed roadie, but can't bear it looking all sad & unloved in my bike shed, so am tempted to restore it & take it trundling.

however if you know the approximate year checking out the below link will help nail it
if you don't I'd still go through the archive as the colour ways generally changed every year to
it'll just be hit and miss until you find the year

as for weather its worth doing, most likely not ! but then 99% or all rebuilds on here don't make any commercial sense what so ever and at the end of it still can't hold a candle to the new rigs of similar quality. If you fancy giving it a go, go for it. it'll always be more about the memories and perhaps making new ones than anything else
