I don't normally buy old suspension stuff but this seemed too good a deal on a sunday morning. 96 F 1000 With a 99 Fatty Super D fork. The fork needs work and I don't even know if it's possible to get parts for it. Put on some studded tires and took it for a spin on very wet snow. Man this frame is stiff ! Nasty clonk when the Lockout is engaged.

Having had the joy of rebuilding headshoks I'd say the bearings on your have migrated a bit.

That is to say the telescope part is extending too far which might be causing the clunk.

Its not impossible to service yourself, just be prepared to swear a bit. Or alot.
