I won this the other day. Last minute bid because I saw it was local and it turns out it was in my parents village, the place i spent the first twenty years of my life (although the owner was an outsider). They weren't in when I collected it but had said just post the money through the letter box (very trusting of them). It is in very good condition for its age, it looks like it has hardly been ridden at all. The tires are on their way out but should be ok as long as I dont let them go flat too often.

It has a medocre groupset (i'd love to upgrade it but it is in very good conditioning) and the grips were really big and awful so I've removed them (replacing them with some Ritchey ones), and the only other thing I'm going ot change straightaway are the bars as they are too narrow. As one of these models came with XT that has crossed my mind for future upgrades.

Re:

Love these, had it on watch but distance prevented bidding. Looks Stirling dude!

Another make that turned bad, catalogues started selling these I remember having a British eagle black rock I think it was as a kid, 24" wheels and front suspension. Was best bike ever in my eyes coz most of my mates were still riding round on bmx and I had this mountain bike with front suspension. Then next Christmas I remember everyone having emmelle or Lew-ways bikes/mountain bikes in their luminous green/yellow and orange kind of colours. My British eagle soon became a pile of parts, as things do when you're a kid and want to see how things work and think you're like the guy over the road that builds his own mtb's! I probably then went back to another bmx. Lol. Popular ones back then we're, ammaco, red line and Raleigh burners obviously.
Anyway lovely bike buddy. Hope it gives you plenty of joy and happy riding hours
