So, one of my "wanted list" bikes has always been a Manitou FS or HT since I first put a slightly lazy eye on one back in the early 90's.

Well im sure some of you will have seen this old girl in the for sale section up for swaps, and after some messages back and forth with Jon (rojo) a deal was done. :P

Its date is November 2, 1993, crack free with no welding in the normal places. Size 18 inch

Jon done a cracking job of wrapping it all up and it landed safely with me a couple of days back.

The bike came as a package with the correct seatpost in mint condition.
The correct xtr m900 front mech.
The 1.1/4 stem in very good condition.
Front forks (3's)
It also came with a second set of chain stays with the cnc work exposed,as the set up on the bike has been welded up, unfortunately there is a small crack which may render them useless :( I will speak to a friend who is a certified ally welder and see what he says.

There is some damage to the top tube hidden under a sticker on the top tube, I will be removing this in time and asses what to do.

Anyway, heres some pictures to be getting on with, followed by a rough build plan.

Stay tooned!

So beautifully crafted these, I came so close to buying one last year but their 'cracking' reputation put me off

Can you put up a picy of the crack please?

Also do nothing with the dent - the tubes are coke can thin and are prone to cracking around dents (thats how you got the spare back end..... I have the BB shell, part of the DT and ST attached!)

I will get a pic of the crack up soon as I can get a decent picture, its hard to capture but its right where it will be under most stress.

I know a bit about these frames so wont be playing with the dent, just going to remove the stickers and have a look, maybe tidy up whatever has been used as filler, then re-cover. :)
