8 speed alloy cassettes

hi all anyone know of an alloy 8 speed shimano freehub cassette, looked into ta specialties, boone, american classic, whats out there in alloy or ti, looking on bike pro site it seems theres boone srp americn classic, do ta still make a cassette cant seem to find and ive trawled everywhere.

I remember there were ones made by Inferno back in the day at least that was what I used to look at in the BIKE workshop catalogs. I''l see if i can locate them in the boxes which they are stored in, just moved house so I kind of lost track of them at the moment.

Inferno cassettes in the end probably are rebadged recon cassettes, which are still available today (recovering weight weenie here, with occasional fallbacks

)

and is it possible to use a recon 9 speed on an 8 speed hub

Maybe corrected but I think 8,9,10 all use the same free hub just need a spacer on one to run a 7 speed.

Steel chain on an alloy cassette will only have one winner. The chain will eat the cassette a lot faster than a steel cassette.
