Pace RC200 F2

Old School Hero
Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum but thought I'd share this as I am highly pleased with it.

I have just about finished my Pace RC200: I used to have one I bought in 1993 but it was stolen in 2004 and so I found this one on the Bay last year and have added the wheels, Maguras (would have preferred yellow) and other bits. These days of course with a family it is the only way to get the kids around!

that's a very cool way to get the kids around! What size is that frame?

Thanks! The frame is a 20" which is about right for me (I have very long legs and am 6'2" anyhow). The trailer is a Burley D'Lite, it fits the two of them (aged 14 months and 3 years) perfectly and has loads of space to put stuff in the back too. The hitch hooks in the rear triangle next to the dropout. It you have small children it is brilliant, I have taken them on trips of 10 miles or more and no complaints.

Looks great, more like 20.5" frame..

I think the Spins look great, HED would be better but really really nice

You might be right about the size: it's the one up from the 19" I had before and I'm sure Pace didn't make 20" and 20.5".

The wheels wouldn't agree with everyone but I always wanted some Spins and am happy with them although they will probably look better on my GT STS 1000DS which I have ridden probably twice since 1999. My old Pace was a silver/purple homage with purple Sun Mistral rims, purple nipples and purple pulstar hubs, as well as purple bars, bolts, cantis, cages, seatpost etc. The spoked wheels did give it a slightly cleaner line though.

If anyone has found a Pace with all the purple trimmings discarded in a stream sandwiched between a shopping trolley and a traffic cone somewhere in Surrey in the last few years I'd be fascinated...

Don't like the spins to be honest. But thats because I don't think they look right on any bike I'm not just singling this one out.

From a Pace aficionado I take that comment very seriously

But I did specifically want to avoid the total old-schoolness of silver spoked wheels with the frame and having ridden it with the XTR/Mavic 217 wheels I had on it before I do think they make it look different in a not bad way.

I have got some snowflake builds I was thinking about putting on it, might see if that results in less controversy.
