I’m not quite sure what year it is, think it’s either a ‘92 or ‘93...although I seem to remember ‘93 frames having a straight seat tube?

It looks to have been nicely refreshed in it’s life and has been chrome powder coated really well, with a fairly sensible kit list...

Plans are to give it a good once over, then start playing with it. Not going to get into a NOS build and will probably build it with a selection of nice period parts, Pace RC35’s perhaps, Ringlé skewers and I’ll try and bolt on XTR bits as and when I can afford/ obtain it...Main thing is I have her now and she’s not going anywhere! ;)

Can anybody help wth stem options?

The current Control Tech quill stem is ok, however as i’m Probably going to change the forks, would anyone recommend changing the whole front end to A-Headset and if I did do that, what would be the benefits???

Re:

If you're just going to replace the fork, which I personally would as well, the benefits are easier adjustments, and not having to hand tighten it every time it rattles loose.
It's a really cool bike, I can't wait to see how it turns out. It looks pretty set up on decent components, at least until you can add what you want.

You can just buy spacer rings for 1 1/4" frames to then fit a standard 1 1/8" headset and fork.

e.g. €12 https://www.bike24.com/p2126254.html you may find then cheaper.

However I think to split that frame from its fork is sacrilege! I'd just get a shorter 1 1/4" stem with a rise to suit you. But its your bike obvs.

A cheapo stem might be useful until something nice turns up used, e.g. this is 1 1/4" and 100mm with a bit of rise for £9
