Nishiki Alien ACX 1990/1991?

Dan
Seeing pictures of your surgical procedures of the metallic kind is kind of disturbing as the working being done such as cutting and removing tubes is beyond most of us and would be terminal for the frame if undertaken by lesser skilled hands

Hope we get to see the gori bits as the work unfolds

Re:

I´m definitely in for the ride and, yes, the "gore" :D I already have a (probably stupid) question:
Why replace the cracked tubing and not weld over the cracks / dress back?

I was sure to have seen a review in MBA and looked for it, but only found review/ads for the Alien AL.
However, I came up with this opener for an editorial, coincidentally one page after the review for the Mantis Flying V.
(I´m sure it will fly)

Thanks..a good question...

I might just repair it, but given the whole Mantis/Nishiki well-earned reputation for cracking, perhaps straight replacement of the tubes might be better long term than repair, specially given the costs of paint and refurb etc.

All the best,
