Just picked this up, its a great looking bike and it seems to be totally original.

it has a full Exage Trail 18 speed groupset, original cabling and it still has swallow tyres

shame its only reynolds 500 but at least they didnt skimp on the 531 fork.

Re:

Hey Mate yeah I like these old ones too, I used to have one that I toured through Cornwall and New Forest, bloody good under loads - good score. Cheers for the info you provided btw re Overburys - still umming and ah-Ing - I’ll prob miss out at this rate!

Love a wildcat... 500 won't stop it from being a nice frame IMO, unless the build is weight weenie elsewhere in the grand scheme of things it's nothing really... only a few grams. Actually I think I prefer the feel of cro-mo (500/501) to cro-manganese (531) anyway, but I guess most of it comes down to how the frame is put together...

I have a couple of these, well, an Escape and a very similar un-named frame with the same 531 forks as your Wildcat. Unloved bikes and lots of quality for the sort of money they sell for. Nice to see another on here.
