My steel CX frame is coming up to its 10th season of racing now, and has one or two issues such as dents and a stuck seatpin so it might be time to retire it before autumn arrives - does anyone have something suitable and reasonably priced that could replace it? The only real requirements would be:
1" headtube (to work with the stem, headset etc. that I already have)
Rear triangle able to take modern 8sp 130mm OLN hubs
English BB threading
Decent clearance for modern CX tyres (older frames from the mid 80s and before are a bit tight with anything over 28c)
Full 531c tubing (or equivalents) upwards
Cosmetic condition not too important as I can always get it powder-coated if a bit tatty.
Drop me a line if you've something that might do the job. Able to collect in the Midlands - I'm based in Loughborough - if posting out would be a hassle (provided you have good local public transport as I don't drive!).
