Did Michelin ever product a 26" road tyre in the infamous green colour as used on the wildgripper? I've repurposed a mountain bike for the road which has meant losing its wildgrippers and the newly fitted black continental sport contact tyres dont look half as good.

Re:

They did a wildgripper sprint with minimal tread -http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=346417

even more deadly in the wet than ordinary wildgrippers ( classic misnomer of a name)

Did you buy them new? If so could you let me know the details.

Afraid that it was just a seller with a pair of them, they are supposedly NOS, but we'll see when they arrive. Green sidewalls with two black stripes on the road contact area. I'll get some pictures up as soon as they arrive.

Unfortunately rubber has a lifespan. I hope your "new" tyres aren't so old that the rubber has deteriorated. I've got a couple of old IRC Mythos XCs in the garage which are looking like crazy paving! Don't tell SWMBO or she'll want me to throw them away.
