Reducing a carbon steerer tube

I've built up a set of rs 32mm Sid forks from new parts I've sourced so I can run decent forks on my trusty GT team RTS. As the CSU is new, it's also uncut and very long. I'm not going to get the pipe cutters out on the carbon, and want to do a good job on cutting the steerer to a more manageable size. Anyone got any tips on how to achieve the best result?

get a cutting guide , use a new sharp blade , dry fit it with the headset and spacers and stem you will use and measure at least twice before you cut , do not be afraid to have a spacer above the stem either

Cheers for the feedback, tallied with my plans. I'm not averse to fitting a spacer above the stem, I often do this actually as it gives flexibility for stem/headset changes.

Thanks for the link too.
