I have a nice set of Lizard Skins but are an inch too long to accommodate barends, can I cut off a bit at one end? Will they still lock on the bar with only 1 clamp?

I was going to say you may get problems with it twisting but then spot the grios on my specialized that have one locking ring and theyve not twisted so reckon you be fine.

Btw can you not get wider bars or extend them? I did that for a set of carbon bars, search for it here.

Depends what the body of the grip is made from, if it's a plastic tube you should be ok. If it's rubber with lockon features molded in, it may be too twisty.

IIRC Lizard skins are a plastic tube with rubber over the top.

Re:

leftfield answer - cut in half and remove an inch out of the middle, that way you have 2 shorter parts clamped on the bar and so less torque to twist them.

Edit -
go back to non lock on? many are shorter than lock on.
Yeah I'd do that.
