Best source for 700c wheels?

found a discarded Dawes Mojave the other week, rear wheel like a pringle, front one a little out of shape.
7 speed freewheel rear.

looking for a new set and wondered, other than ebay, are there any other sources that are good for these?

seen these on ebay, but not sure on the quality - although not so fussed as it'll get limited use (i.e. spring/summer time only). Its for the Mrs obvsiously, not me

EDIT: thinking about it, i would like to be able to get some rims that would take a wider profile tyre - to maybe get some 'cruiser' style tyres on for comfort. what sort of width rim would i need to be looking at with a 700c wheel? or athe one in links above good for it?

I would switch to a freehub, the axle will be stronger and there are very few decent screw-on hubs these days.
A 7 speed casssette will fit with a spacer.

Try a touring rim for a wider tyre - see Spa Cycles, their wheels are very well regarded. Chrina or Sputnik would be good.

Agreed, I would never go back to freewheels. When I was a young roadie doing lots of miles I broke a lot of rear axles on cheap wheels. It was only when I finally saved up enough Saturday job money for a decent set of wheels with some Campagnolo hubs that I stopped breaking them.

This will be going on a bicycle that will be used only when its sunny and only for gentle rides around town/seafront....
If they work out the same price then I'll happily get some though.

Cheap wheels are fine for occasional use.

I'd buy them from a local bike shop, though, so you can take them back if there's a problem.
