FSA Crank / Shimano BB compatibility - Help!

Hiya,

Quick question.

Can I use a Shimano external bottom bracket (such as XT M770 or XTR M980) with a set of FSA Gossamer Cranks? I've read that they may be compatible and just wanted some confirmation. The reason I'm asking is because I can get an XTR M980 bottom bracket for less than the cost of a FSA Gossamer one!

Found the answer.

Shimano HT2 bottom brackets are compatible with FSA Gossamer cranks provided they're not the carbon ones, which is nice as the FSA bottom brackets are a bag of w*nk!

It's for a work colleague and he's paying me to fit a new one for him :)

The rest of the groupset (minus the cranks) is Shimano 105, so that's the BB that I've gone for. Only a tenner too, compared to £30-40 for the FSA which isn't as good!
